The police said journalists will be briefed about the incident on Monday morning.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje told his supporters that there is no cause for alarm as voting reports project that the APC will emerge victorious in the governorship and state House of Assembly elections in Kano state. Ganduje in a statement signed by the state commissioner of information, Malam Muhammad Garba, on Sunday, March 10, urged his supporters to remain calm while collation of results from the elections continue.

He however noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was the only constituted authority to announce results of elections and declare winners. The governor advised people to wait for the announcement of the final official result by the INEC before embarking on celebrations.

He implored the people to always be law abiding and desist from taking law into their hands and desist from any act capable of breaching peace in the state.
