Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the public Holiday Amendment bill into law.
Senator Ita Enang, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly matters (Senate), made this known to State House correspondents after signing ceremony.
Senator Enang noted that the new law allows a public holiday to be declared on June 12 every year while May 29th will no longer be a public holiday.
The development means May 29th which was previously observed as a public holiday, will only be handing-over date and working day.
